It is proposed that the new building will be located on land adjacent to the shops and bus terminus on Skerray and Scaraway Street. Two locations had been originally considered within this area identified as '1' and '2' on the location plan.
After initial discussion site 1 has emerged as the most preferable as it provides an opportunity to regenerate and create new public space and amenity around the shops. Locating the building in this location also means that it can engage with existing pedestrian routes that are popular with residents in this area who use the shops and buses.
This location also provides a prominent and highly visible location right in the heart of the community.
